Tim Ouwejan

Tim Ouwejan (born 29-04-2000 in Arnhem, The Netherlands) is currently principal trombone player of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra of the Netherlands and was Academist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in the season 21/22. Tim just finished his bachelor exam with distinction at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and currently studies his masters there with Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders and Remko de Jager. Tim is co-founder of the Nymphéas Trombone Quartet, which he founded together with three friends and colleagues of the same conservatory.

He won prizes at several competitions: the 2021 Jeju International Brass Competition for Tenor Trombone (1st price), the 2021 Getzen Ian Bousfield Solo Competition (1st price), the 2022 ITF (International trombone festival USA) Frank Smith competition (1st price), the 2022 ITF Van Haney competition (1e price), the 2022 ARD international music competition Munich (Semifinalist), the 2021 ITF Alto Trombone competition (1st price), the 2020 IPV trombone competition in Saarbrücken (3rd prize), at Classic Young Masters 2019 (Classic Young Masters Award, Young Talent Orchestra Award, Audience Award).
