Model description
The THEIN Corno da Caccia in Bb/A offers a wide range of uses. Matthias Höfs uses it e.g. for Mozarts “Posthorn-Serenade”, Mahlers “Posthorn Solo” and exposed horn parts in Bachs music. The post horn was not a firmly defined instrument. The corno da caccia as a high horn instrument seemed certainly one of the best options, e.g. to adequately implement Mahler’s ideas about sound. In the ensemble, e.g. with “German Brass”, it is often used as a tonal enrichment between horns and trumpet.
